Chase Bridge Community Choir is a friendly, energetic, all-ages choir group in Twickenham for anybody in the community

Our choir started in 2016 when a small group of parents wanted to come together to enjoy music, in the same way that their children did at school. Rather than form a parents’ choir they set up a community choir – welcoming all comers, not only those connected with the school. We have grown our numbers, our repertoire, and our ambitions, performing in a small variety of concerts each year.

More than just a choir, this group has become a strong bunch of friends, keeping each other going during COVID-19 lockdowns – even rehearsing in people’s gardens and on Zoom.

The choir continues to grow and evolve as we welcome more members from across the community.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

It is £2.00 per rehearsal as we have some fixed costs which need covering. All profits from concerts go to the school to support music for the children, or other venues and charities that partner with us. The musical director does it for free (and for fun!).

What kind of music do we perform?

A real mix to keep some variety, interest and challenge. The Chase Bridge Community Choir sings a wide range of music, including pop, jazz, folk, musical theatre and classical, so there is always something for everyone. We also take part every year in a carol concert, performing many Christmas favourites as well as a few unusual gems that we have discovered.

When do you rehearse?

During term time on Tuesday nights from 2000-2200hrs. We don’t rehearse over school holidays.

How do I join?

Contact us at chasebridgecommunitychoir@gmail.com to find out more and arrange coming along to a free trial rehearsal, for a chat and a sing.

Do I have to come every week?

We all try to make rehearsals every week, but life happens and sometimes we are late or have to miss the odd one. We always provide sheet music and sometimes even practice tracks so you can rehearse in the shower and keep up. If you have any concerns about how often you can attend come along and try it out and have a chat with our friendly choir director, Jo. She has a busy life too, so always understands.

Do need to have singing experience?

We are for all singers – most of the choir had not sung before joining and ability to read music is not necessary.

Do I need to audition?

We don’t audition new joiners – all singers are welcome, even if you have never sung before.

If you want a choir where you’ll exceed your expectations musically and have a cracking laugh at the same time then we are for you!
